Gear Up is a Blenheim-based hire company specialising solely in the hire of access equipment such as scissorlifts, knucklebooms and cherrypickers. Callum and Rachel Anderson started the business from scratch in May 2017, and have since established a strong and loyal customer base. Focussing on commercial users including construction companies, painters, engineering firms, signwriters and wineries to name a few, Gear Up has established itself as a credible player in a market that historically lacked competition. Their ‘can-do’ attitude and focus on providing solutions has been well received by customers. Callum and Rachel have lived in Marlborough since 2005, and have worked in a number of Corporate roles before deciding the time was right to develop and launch their own business. With the new Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 taking effect in April 2016, the Anderson’s saw an opportunity to enter the market given the increased focus on ensuring workers were provided with safe plant and equipment to carry out various tasks. “We’ve loved every minute of this challenge to date. It’s really satisfying to know that we’re playing our part in ensuring people can access high and awkward areas using safe, compliant access equipment”, said Callum.

Respect. Integrity. Positive relationships. Resilience. At Graeme Dingle Foundation Marlborough, they’re more than just words, they’re life-changing lessons. Every week we work directly with over 2,200 of Marlborough’s young people, across 14 local schools and colleges:
• Our “Kiwi Can” programme builds lifelong skills, positive relationships and qualities such as integrity, respect and resilience amongst our primary school-aged children; and
• “Career Navigator” is our unique mentoring programme which connects our college students with local industry, career pathways and eye-opening opportunities.
Our programmes develop the skillsets, attributes and values that our young people need to be successful in the workplaces and communities of the future. Our work not only improves the social fabric of the region, but also has significant long-term economic benefits. For example, every $1 invested in the Graeme Dingle Foundation programmes gives an average $7.15 return to New Zealand. An incredible group of committed and connected Marlborough organisations partner with us to support the young people of Marlborough. We’re almost 100% funded by the local community, because our partners really understand and support the value of what we do. How about joining us in our mission of transforming even more young lives - and Marlborough - for the better?

Our mobile classroom has visited some 99% of the primary and intermediate schools in the Marlborough region, including Rai Valley, the Marlborough Sounds, Kaikoura In Marlborough, our programme is dependent on the support of a small but vital group of local sponsors whose contributions by way of funding services help us deliver the programme to schools at a highly subsidised rate so that all pupils have the opportunity to attend.

MW & BV Duggan Partnership - 22 years ago Traditional country Preserves was born at Selmes Road in rural Blenheim making chutneys, pickles, sauces, jams and marmalade. 11 years ago when we brought the business it was a large commercial kitchen and shop selling our products and baskets plus an extensive range of food related gifts. Devonshire teas were also served outside in the garden or upstairs in the arts and craft gallery. When our lease ran out we downsized to our core products we make ourselves. We sell these products at the Farmer and Artisan markets. The Gourmet Collection at the vines Village stocks our range and gift baskets and we developed and make their own range of sauces for them. We also supply bulk sizes of products to customers like local wineries and B &B's and on-line. We also make or develop other products on request. We make a Natural sugar free range of products for Diabetics. Our kitchen is Gluten Free and we also make other products for allergy suffers. All our products are natural, made mainly from local products from other members of the farmers market and as sustainable as possible.
