Meet Tracey

I’ve never been one to shy away from a challenge.  After 15 years in senior roles in some of Australasia’s top tourism businesses such as Kirra Holidays, STA Travel and luxury train brand, Great Southern Rail (The Ghan, Indian Pacific and Great Southern), I took the leap and started my own business, Directional Tourism, in 2015.

Initially the business focused on assisting New Zealand tourism operators with representation in the Australian travel market, but since moving to Marlborough in 2018 I have transformed my model to include business mentoring and business acumen across all sectors. One of the first things I did after moving to this region was to join the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce. This helped me quickly learn the New Zealand ways of business and connected me to the Marlborough business community.

I now offer a broad range of services focused on supporting and working with small tourism businesses and I liaise daily with a range of business owners assisting them with developing the right business strategies for their product/service. During the uncertainty of COVID-19 I have increased my role of mentor and advisor through the Regional Business Partnership Network which supports local tourism businesses and those around New Zealand. In addition, assisting Regional Tourism Offices (RTO) with growth and capability building for their Tourism Members.

I believe the knowledge and skill sets acquired over twenty years, plus my success as a business owner and connections to nationwide businesses (small to medium sized), will be beneficial  to the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce Board.
