Natalie grew up in Moncks Bay, Christchurch and moved to Marlborough in 2006 to join the wine industry. Now calling Marlborough home, she is the Senior Winemaker at Yealands Estate in the Awatere Valley.
On arriving in 2006 she worked at Saint Clair Family Estate, and has also made wine in the Wairarapa, Oregon, and Bordeaux. Just prior to joining the Yealands team, she was working in Galicia, North West Spain making Albarino.
Having spent time away from the region, she always missed it and feels very lucky to be back living in such an incredible place. Other than making wine, she has a passion for the Arts (she has a music degree and plays the double bass), getting out into the beautiful surrounds and spending time with her two chickens Ellen and Portia, and her elderly cat Baa.
In March 2018 she was named one of the world’s most influential women in wine by The Drinks Business UK.
