Raised in Christchurch, Mark came to Marlborough in 2001 with wife Andrea after several years living and travelling overseas.
Originally planning to help out in the family business at New World for a year before heading off on the next adventure they fell in love with the Marlborough lifestyle and stayed!
In 2010 they purchased New World off Andrea’s mother and in 2013 sold it to build PAK’nSAVE in the Westwood Retail Park.
4 kids and 20 years in retail later the Marlborough Community is still a big part of Marks life whether it be helping out local organisations, mentoring business owners or coaching kids sports.
Mark has served the last 6 years on the Witherlea School Board of Trustees (The last 2 as Chairman) and been involved in a stewardship role establishing the Marlborough Community of Learning (Piritahi) from the ground up since 2015.
Recently this year he was appointed to the Fire and Emergency NZ Local Advisory Committee for Marlborough to help facilitate their work in building resiliency in the Marlborough community.
Mark is also the Deputy Chair of the PAK’nSAVE Executive group for the South Island.
Outside of work and governance Mark enjoys time with Family in the Marlborough Sounds, watching and coaching kids sport and still attempting to play the odd game himself.
