Raised in Timaru, Anthony came to Marlborough in 1994 as an Air Force Recruit. Trained as a Logistics Supply Specialist, Anthony served at Woodbourne for six years, before moving north to Whenuapai. On leaving the RNZAF, Anthony took up a role as Operations Manager with P&O Cold Logistics, a global leader in Cold Storage and Distribution, and later with VersaCold Logistics.
When time came to leave the rat race of the big city, Anthony and his wife Beth chose to investigate opportunities in Marlborough. In 2008 Anthony took the position of Warehouse and Distribution Manager at WineWorks, overseeing a growth phase in the business. In 2012 an internal restructure saw him change to Supply Chain Development Manager, focussing on the strategic needs of WineWorks business. As the business grew further, he moved into a Project Manager role, focussing on infrastructure development, a position he still holds. He also looks after the company’s Sustainability and Biosecurity programmes and is active in the Health & Safety and Continuous Improvement areas of the business.
As well as representing WineWorks and the wider wine industry which forms its customer base, Anthony brings his experience across a broad spectrum to benefit all of Marlborough.
Anthony’s other business interests include being a Director, alongside wife Beth, of Button Help; a consulting and contracting business specialising in Social Media, Administration and Logistics.
In his spare time, Anthony is a passionate motorcyclist, being involved with the Motorcycle Section of the Vintage Car Club of NZ Marlborough Branch, and is the local organiser and host of the worldwide Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, a global fundraiser and awareness event for men’s health issues.
